In addition to Campus 12, there are many familiar Studio 100 heroes to admire. Hanne, Klaasje and Marthe from K3 and Mega Mindy are back. But the Night Watch, Samson and Gert, Piet Piraat and Kabouter Plop also welcome Sinterklaas. Their first test, shown in the film, was at the 1962 Canadian Swimming Championships, at which they carried off a number of trophies.

Gangster boss Chuck Collins, despite his ruthlessness, is a basically decent fellow. Collins is plagued by a rival gang, led by deceptively boyish Curly, who has been stealing jewelry from the rich and famous. Collins tricks the other crooks into turning the gems over to him, intending to use them for his own profit. But sweet heroine Sunshine eventually persuades Collins and his cohorts to turn honest. In order to show up a rival, a snobbish woman throws a party and hires an actor to pretend to be from British royalty who is an "old friend".

The Big Noise is retired textile manufacturer Julius Trent (Guy Kibbee). Seeking a new outlet for his entrepreneurial energies, Trent buys a half interest in a thriving dry-cleaning establishment. This gets him mixed up with a gang of protection racketeers, who promise dire consequences if Trent doesn't dance to their tune.
